The Shanty Singers choir was established in 1970 by retired Master Mariners who had all rounded Cape Horn on commercial sailing ships. Even today most choir members are either retired or active Master Mariners.

The goal of the choir is to keep the old shipboard working-songs alive; sea shanties from the days of the great sailing ships. Our most recent CD, "Blow ye Winds", was released in December 2008. The previous one, "Strike the Bell", was released in 2000. Both CDs are on sale in Luckan on Auragatan 1, Åbo and in the museum Forum Marinum.
